A heat pump can occasionally low air that feels cooler than expected, but this is not anything to worry about. It can happen for two reasons, first because of the way they generate heat, by transferring it from the air to your home. For this reason, you don’t feel the same blast of warm air that you feel from a furnace. In the winter when the air is cold, the heat pump may be blowing air that is 75-80°, but it still feels cool. Secondly, sometimes heat pumps run in “defrost mode”, in which they stop producing heat. This can occasionally start with a short burst of cold air. If your heat pump blows cold air continuously, you should contact your installer.
