Generally, driving an EV is similar to driving a gasoline engine. However, some of the differences are:
1. EVs accelerate very rapidly when compared to a similar gas-powered vehicle
2. Most EVs will start to slow down as soon as you take your foot off the gas. This is because of regenerative braking - the car uses the energy from slowing down to recharge the battery to extend the range and lower the amount of electricity used (lowering fuel costs). Some EVs call this One Pedal driving as it is possible to drive without hitting the brake. However, all EVs do have a brake pedal in case you need to stop faster. It takes a little practice to get used to this, but becomes second nature fairly quickly.
3. EVs are very quiet because there is no combustion engine.
4. EVs tend to handle very well and are less likely to skid even without all-wheel drive. This is because the very heavy batteries are placed along the bottom of the car and lower the center of gravity
