When selling a house with a customer owned system (purchased outright), the installed solar system is part of the property. Research has shown that having a solar panel system adds value to the home due to its ability to provide free electricity to the new owner. This is not true if you get solar installed by entering a Power Purchase Agreement instead of purchasing it outright.
