The chargers at City Hall are available for public use. In addition to the five at City Hall/War Memorial Circle, there is one at 52 Elliot Street (at the Public Buildings Dept.), one at Newton South High School which can be used by the public in non school hours (after school, weekends, holidays, school vacations), one at 90 Crafts Street, and one each at the City parking lots on Lexington St. and Richardson St.
There are several different apps and websites that can help you find stations as well as provide real time information about availability of charging stations, cost to charge, charging speed, and whether a parking fee is also required. These include: U.S. Department of Energy, PlugShare, ChargePoint, and ChargeHub.
